Creator's Key Takeaways

We had been scheduled an embarcation time of 1:00. Qod give you an embarcation time around about 2 weeks before the start of your cruise.

We were a little bit disappointed because we thought, 'Yep, we'll get on 1:00, no problems at all.'

We were wowed as we walked onto the ship.

The food came promptly. We had some really nice dinner guests that were sat next to us.

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

We start on day 1 of our Cunard Queen Victoria New Years Cruise visiting ports in Belgium and the Netherlands. We embarked Queen Victoria from the Queen Elizabeth Terminal in Southampton, United Kingdom. We travelled down to Southampton the day before our cruise and got, not one but two emails from Cunard regarding changes to our cruise. After a supposed delayed embarkation, we arrived onboard. We had an embarkation day lunch in the Golden Lion, explored the ship, took a spa tour and visited our favourite venue, several times. In the evening, we dined in the Britannia Restaurant and then headed to the Queens Room for their 80's night. We went to the main show and enjoyed the classic Royal Court Theatre. After the show we visited the Queens Room for the silent disco, the Commodore Club followed by the late-night venue, the Yacht Club. Launched in December 2007, she was the first Cunard ship to be named by a member of the British royal family, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Built by Fincantieri in Italy, Queen Victoria is the second-largest ship in the Cunard fleet, measuring 965 feet in length and carrying up to 2,081 guests and 981 crew. Her design echoes the golden age of ocean travel, with grand staircases, rich wood paneling, and art deco-inspired interiors. Queen Victoria offers a unique blend of British tradition and contemporary cruising. She features spacious staterooms, many with private balconies, and a range of dining options, including the elegant Britannia Restaurant and the exclusive Queens Grill and Princess Grill suites. Guests enjoy a variety of amenities, such as a two-story library, a Royal Court Theatre with private boxes, a spa and wellness center, swimming pools, and traditional afternoon tea in the Queens Room. Known for world voyages and transatlantic crossings, Queen Victoria is a favorite for travelers seeking refined experiences. She continues to uphold Cunard’s legacy of elegance, offering a blend of heritage, luxury, and adventure on the high seas.
