Once upon a time, called Yugoslavia, I visited Dubrovnik in 1976 and left with memories of surly personnel and inedible food. The past years have brought previously unthought of changes to the Balkans. Albania, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.
