3 Things to Know About Mexico’s New Cruise Passenger Tax
YouTube Video Description↓
Mexico is moving forward with a brand new tax on cruise passengers — but the amount has been drastically slashed from the initial $42 per passenger that was proposed last year. Here’s what to know: • The new tax goes into effect July 1, 2025 — six months after it was originally set to go into effect. The tax’s implementation was delayed following a meeting with the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association. • To start, the tax will be $5 per person — a drastic decline from what was originally proposed. Plans are for the tax to increase to $10 per passenger in 2026, then $21 per passenger in 2027. • Cruise lines currently build port fees into cruise fares, and it’s expected that the new fee is likely to be rolled into the cost of the cruise as well. ➡️ For our full story: https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/mexico-cruise-passenger-tax-reduced ➡️ To compare Mexico cruise fares & itineraries: https://www.cruisecritic.com/find-a-cruise/destination-mexico #cruisecritic #cruisetravel #cruise #travel #cruisenews #travelnews #mexicotravel
