Travel news for the week ending January 30, 2022. • The UK has removed most Covid restrictions, which could signal a removal of travel-related Covid restrictions for Canada and the US • Crystal Cruiseline made headlines again this week, as the Crystal Serenity was denied docking in Aruba and was forced to divert to the Bahamas. Passengers on the world cruise were forced to take the same 2-hour ferry ride back to Florida, but these passengers also had 4 months' worth of luggage in tow. • Sandals Royal Bahamian reopened last week, following an extensive $55-million renovation with added luxury suites and a refresh of the whole property. • Rising Covid cases has prompted the Los Cabos and Cancun/Mayan Riviera regions to put their Covid level to Orange, which means there may be capacity limits on activities and excursions. The Puerto Vallarta region remains at Yellow. • The Tourist Tax for Isla Mujures is set to increase on February 1; however, it's still going to remain at less than $30 pesos per person, per day, or about an extra US $10/week.
