AIDAnova was named August 31, 2018, at the Meyer Werft Shipyard as part of AIDA Open Air. Prior to the naming, a dazzling laser show played out on the side of the ship while aqua acrobats danced above the water. The naming by the "godfamily" was followed by a spectacular fireworks display. AIDAnova will leave the yard at the end of September and enter service in December.
