Anchorage Cruise Ship Shuttle Ride from Cruise Port to Downtown (4K)

Holland America (and Princess Cruises) offers a free shuttle bus service from the Port of Anchorage into the downtown area. It runs about every 30 minutes and drops guests off near G and 6th Ave. See what the ride was like. Our particular ride took over 30 minutes due to waiting for at a train crossing for an Alaskan rail to pass through. Otherwise the ride should not take more than 15 minutes. To return, we simply had to get back to the drop-off point. The last shuttle left at around 8 PM to return guests back to the pier. This was from our 14 day Alaska cruise aboard the Holland America Amsterdam in June of 2017. Usually cruise ships do not like to dock in Anchorage due to the extreme tide differences, and hence the popularity of Seward & Whittier as docking areas for visiting Anchorage. So it was nice to have a cruise in our case that docked directly in the city of Anchorage.
