About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Description↓
We visited Lisbon, Portugal upon the Celebrity APEX and we were fortunate enough to have an overnight stay in Lisbon which allowed us to take a wine tour on Day 1 to the Setubal region. Our plan was to visit three wineries, but after the first wine tasting our tour guide Rodrigo took a detour. He surprised us with a stop at Azulejos de Azeitão house (Azeitão Tiles). Our group was very interested to take the side trip and learn about tile making. We saw the European traditional methods of tile making, and also how reproductions are made of antique designs from, not only European countries, but Islamic and Chinese regions. We were amazed by the level of manual labor to make these pieces of art versus tiles being massed produced by machines. The craftmanship and skill required to create these custom tiles was eye opening. I hope if you are ever visit the Lisbon Portugal area, that you take the time to visit this very interesting factory!
