Welcome to embarkation day on Carnival Firenze! In this vlog, I’m taking you from travel day all the way through boarding Carnival Firenze in Long Beach, checking in, exploring the ship, seeing my interior secret balcony cabin, sailaway, and ending the night with dinner at Il Viaggio. This video starts with my flight into Long Beach, a quick hotel stay downtown, and then heading over to the Long Beach cruise terminal the next morning. I also share a helpful little tip about getting dropped off near the Queen Mary if the main terminal area is crowded. Once we got there, check-in moved pretty quickly, especially since we had priority boarding and arrived right after the terminal opened. Once onboard, I walk through some of my first impressions of Carnival Firenze, check out the secret deck, have lunch in Michelangelo, stop by the Motor Bar for an espresso martini, and then finally get into our cabin — which was one of the big reasons we booked this sailing in the first place: the interior secret balcony. Later on, I check out sailaway, walk through the Serenity deck, do a little shopping, and wrap the night with my thoughts on how crowded embarkation day felt, the smart elevator system, and dinner at Il Viaggio, where the sea bass ended up being the star of the meal. If you’re sailing Carnival Firenze, cruising out of Long Beach, or just want to see what embarkation day on this ship is really like, this one should help.
