YouTube Video Description

We’re back on Carnival Encounter for a weekend getaway cruise from Brisbane — our first time onboard since the ship returned from dry dock. Embarkation Day is always exciting, and this one had a few new things we were keen to check out. After boarding, we headed straight to The Pantry for our first meal and a look at the changes made during the refit. Later in the afternoon we joined the fun at the Sailaway party as we left Brisbane behind for a couple of days at sea. One of the big additions from dry dock is the new Thermal Suite, so we stopped in for a first look at the space and what’s now included. The cost for this was $103 per person for the entire 3 night cruise. In the evening we enjoyed dinner at Trattoria, taking advantage of the special deal they offer on the first night. And of course, no Carnival cruise would be complete without the always‑popular 80s Rock ’n’ Glow Party, which rounded out our first night onboard perfectly. This is the first episode in our Carnival Encounter weekend series, with more to come as we explore the new venues and updates added during dry dock — including Fahrenheit 555, Topside Grill, Bonsai Sushi and more.
