CARNIVAL RADIANCE: WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE? FOOD is always a topic of cruise conversation and the Carnival Radiance food is no exception. The 50th Sailabration is something we look forward to and try to make the most of our food as we go from buffet, to Blue Iguana, Pizza Capitano, Guy Fiere and the main dining room brunch and dinner. Originally I have a reservation at both the Cucina del Capitano and the Steakhouse, but I cancel because the main dining room celebration promises to be favorite food and entertainment. I have to say the food is a major problem on this cruise. It is hardly warm, it has been sitting for awhile and frankly, a disappointment. The portions are very small and you might want to automatically ask for seconds! The staff is hard working and do try to please, but I am not sure what is wrong with this 3 day cruise. Possibly, is the full ship more than the staff can handle? Is something broken? It is perplexing, I make the most of it. The food it is not great. Sorry Carnival. I have fun on this ship, but if food is your focus, just be forewarned! It is possible the steakhouse, Cucina del Capitano and Bonsai Sushi may be better but I do not know.
