We are just returning from a trip of a lifetime 23 days touring Italy, Croatia, and Montenegro that we are calling The Best of Italy and Croatia. Join us as we travel by land and cruise ship to some very exciting and beautiful ports. Each episode of this series will share the many different regions of the Adriatic Sea region and the beautiful country of Italy. In this episode we visit Zadar Croatia. Located on the Dalmatian coast of the Adriatic Sea, Zadar is a Roman-era city with a modern and youthful vibe. We strolled along its beautiful seawall and tree-lined promenade. We visited The Greeting of the Sun although it was in the middle of the day, but still great to see. We than went on to the Sea Organ which is an art installation consisting of 35 pipes cut into the promenade. Soothing chords become a cacophony when the waves are choppy, creating an unpredictable concert orchestrated by the sea. We also visited the classical sights of Old Town Zadar and walked in the Roman forum, of which only a few columns and an altar remain. Stones from here were used to build the neighboring rotunda of 9th-century St. Donat's Church. The church of St. Simeon contains a beautifully crafted silver reliquary, while more can be seen in the Gold and Silver of Zadar exhibition at St. Mary's church. We also traveled to the beautiful and historic town on Nin before finishing up the day at the Royal Winery. Thanks for watching and give the video a thumbs up if you like it and leave a comment.
