Creator's Key Takeaways
I cruise on the cheap. I ball on a budget.
This is a pretty safe area. Once again, if you are sailing as, you know, a single person or if you're a a single lady cruising, this port is pretty safe.
The best mojito I've ever had.
Fat Tuesday's bathrooms. They are clean. So, if you have to go to the bathroom, I would go to the Fat Tuesday ones.

Welcome to Day 5 on board the Carnival Mardi Gras as we set sail out of Port Canaveral, Florida for a 7 day cruise to the Western Caribbean with port stops in Cozumel and Isla Tropicale Cruise Center, formerly known as Mahogany Bay. Today is the second port day and we are at Cozumel at the Puerta Maya Carnival Port. We did not have an excursion booked so we walked around the port and did some shopping and explored the drinks. Then back on the ship, tonight is one of my favorite shows, Love and Marriage. And then more comedians and Las Vegas Nights center stage show. At the Puerta Maya port in Cozumel, Carnival guests can enjoy extensive, themed duty-free shopping, eat at Mexican restaurants, or relax at the port's beach-style, non-swimming area featuring fountains. Popular nearby activities include visiting Chankanaab National Park for snorkeling/dolphins, exploring Mayan ruins, or taking an ATV tour. Here is what to do at the Puerta Maya Cozumel Port: On-Site Fun (No Transportation Needed): Shop and Dine: The terminal is a large, themed open mall with restaurants serving authentic Mexican dishes and cocktails, plus souvenir shopping. Relax: Enjoy the landscaped area with trees and water features near the pier. Visit the "Beach": There is a small, sandy area with lounge chairs for relaxing, though it is not for swimming. See the "Voladores": Watch the traditional Danza de los Voladores (flying performers) often found in the center of the port. Short Taxi/Excursion Trips (Close by): Chankanaab Adventure Beach Park: A top spot for snorkeling, scuba diving, and swimming with dolphins. Tequila Tours: Participate in tastings to experience local culture. Adventure Tours: ATV rides through the jungle or jeep tours to the island's wild east side. Beach Clubs: Take a short taxi ride to nearby beach clubs like Paradise Beach or Playa Mia for sunbathing and water activities. Tips for Puerto Maya: Currency: US dollars are widely accepted. Transport: Taxis are readily available at the port to take you anywhere on the island. Plan Ahead: If you want to visit popular, more distant spots like the San Gervasio Mayan ruins, it is best to book an excursion Follow on Social Media 📷 Instagram — https://www.instagram.com/hangingoutwithmike/ 🔵 Facebook — https://www.facebook.com/hangingwithmike/ 📱 TikTok — https://www.tiktok.com/@hangingoutwithmike?lang=en Subscribe here: https://bit.ly/2TQ1lim My Awesome Water Bottle: Epic Water Filters - https://www.epicwaterfilters.com/ Use Promo Code "Michael15" to get 15% off Camera Gear DJI Osmo Pocket 3: https://amzn.to/4db7ppD Sony A7IV Camera: https://amzn.to/3haC8eK Tamron 17-28 Wide Zoom Lens: https://amzn.to/3h5Ehs0 Tamron 28-75 Standard Zoom Lens: https://amzn.to/3VPS5Wq Sony Digital Shotgum Microphone: https://amzn.to/3WJAnWB Rode Wireless Go Mic: https://amzn.to/3FbJbvD SD Card: https://amzn.to/3iJNzKW DJI RS 3 Mini: https://amzn.to/3SLph21 Camera Bag: https://amzn.to/3PdlM1p DISCLAIMER: Links included in this description may be affiliate links.
