Creator's Key Takeaways

I just want to talk about over tourism and how the cruise lines are basically the ones being blamed completely for over tourism

in 2019 they said that about 13 million visitors this is the year before the pandemic remember so a normal year about 13 million tourists visited Venice and about 7% of those arrived by cruise ship

in fact there were 20 million visitors in 2023 into the city of Venice 20 million and there were 200% less Cruise passengers than in 2019

I often think that the cruise ships are getting a bum wrap they are being blamed for over tourism because they're the hotel and they're easy to spot

CRUISE SHIPS ARE THE SCAPEGOATS OF TOURISM. When cities and Countries talk about overcrowding in their city by tourists. the first thing they say is the main cause are cruise ships. they are like locusts swarming into out city. the city will be much less crowded if we could only get rid of the cruise ships. Well Venice was one of the first cities to ban cruise ships from the center. So does that mean tourism has gone down that nthat those nasty cruise ships are gone? In a word No!
