Follow along on my day in Strasbourg, France (my birthplace) where we visited the old city, took a canal ride, went to Musée des Beaux-Arts de Strasbourg where there was a Henner exhibit, ate escargots, French onion soup and flammkuchen at Café Restaurant Le Gruber and saw Cathedral Notre Dame Strasbourg. From Mannheim see the Carl Benz Automuseum and Heidelberg Castle. Enjoy a morning in Rudesheim Am Rhein with a mini train ride through the vineyards then a tour of Siegfrieds Mechanisches Musikkabinett with the coolest player piano-violin. Enjoy picturesque cruising the Rhine Gorge - Upper Middle Rhine Valley in Germany watching the castles go by between Rudesheim and Koblenz, plus my big win in the artist challenge to sketch a castle. Enjoy the day in Koblenz Germany, starting with very sad walking Jewish Heritage tour, a time out for our COVID test to return to the US in three days, then an afternoon at the Marksburg Castle. In Cologne, another depressing tour to hear about the dreadful history dating back to the Middle Ages and through the holocaust and the rise of Nationalism in the Jewish Heritage tour. Spend our last day in Amsterdam, visit Zaanse Schans windmills, clogs, cheese, Cafe de Walvis apple taart, Van Gogh Museum, and a very somber and silent experience at the Anne Frank House before ending the evening at the Red Light District in one last day.
