For our visit to. Lombok, Indonesia, we chose an excursion called Cultural Lombok that introduced us to Lombok's culture and customs. On the drive, we saw the beauty of the island and the famous rice paddies. Our first stop was Lingsar temple, founded in 1714, it is a Hindu temple that welcomes Buddhists and Muslim worshippers. The temple has a sacred pool that is home to eels that eat hard-boiled eggs tossed to them by worshippers. Our next stop was Mayura Water Palace, built in 1744. It was originally the temple of the royal family and is a superb example of Balinese floating pavilion. This floating pavilion is surrounded by an artificial lake that is surrounded by mangosteen trees. We visited a market with souvenirs, handicrafts and a demonstration of typical martial arts. Lunch was the popular Senggig, at the beach resort Aruna. We eneded the day at Sukarare, a craft village, and watched women weave. It is known for weaving with metallic threads and fabric. It is a beautiful island and fascinating culture. #indonesia #lombok #worldcruise #indonesianculture #mayurawaterpalace #temple #palace #lombokindonesia #indonesianisland Music from https://www.bensound.com/ License number 204507727 Chapters 00:00 Introduction 00:27 Traveling into Lombok 02:17 Port of Lombok 03:16 Driving Around Lombok 04:58 Lingsar Temple 07:32 Mayura Water Palace 09:24 Floating Pavilion at Mayura Water Palace 10:46 Sesela Market 11:15 Aruna Beach Resort, Senggigi 11:43 Sukarare, A Craft Village 12:18 Driving Back the the Port and Rice Padddies 12:55 Leaving Lombok
