The Electrical Water Pageant originally premiered on October 25th, 1971 along side the opening of the Disney World Resort. It was the first night time parade for Disney and the music from it was used as the foundation of the very first Main Street Electrical Parade in Disneyland a year later. With the exception of a few short refurbishment periods the parade has been in operation since day one making it the longest running parade in any Disney Resort. The current version has been operating since 1996 and received the first major additions in the parades history with the inclusion of a new opening and closing scenes to commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Walt Disney World Resort. If near the Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay Lake at night be sure to look for it to play every 15 minutes.
