Today, we leave the theme parks behind and explore somewhere completely new in Central Florida. We head to Downtown Bartow, a historic town known as the “City of Oaks”, to see what it’s really like. Walking along Main Street, we discover independent shops, coffee houses, and a beautiful historic courthouse that is now the Polk County History Center. After a coffee stop at a popular local café, we continue the adventure with a visit to Lakeland Antique Mall where we hunt for a Disney pin that we regretted not buying on a previous trip. From there we explore Downtown Lakeland, including the scenic Hollis Gardens and the Lake Mirror waterfront promenade before stopping at The Joinery, a local food hall with street food, ramen, barbecue and more. The next day we head back to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try some rides, snacks and shows, including Star Tours, Smugglers Run, the Little Mermaid show and the Villains stage show.
