In an exclusive interview with Ravi Gosain, Hony. Joint Secretary, IATO, speaks about his 10th visit to WTM. Being a regular visitor to WTM for the last 10 years, he is a bit concerned with the decrease of the number of visitors; however, he admits that the quality has indeed improved. IATO (Indian Association of Tour Operators) is a premier organization which deals with the incoming tour operators of India. They work closely with the tourism ministry of government of India. UK being a traditional market place for India, IATO, has high hopes to publicize them in the UK market. The tour operators have new ideas keeping in mind the need and choice of the UK tourists. With the electronic travel authorizations, the visa procedure will be simpler which adds to the hope of getting more international tourists. Apart from publicity among the tourists, what IATO wanted is to improve on their brand awareness which could eventually make a positive impact on their business.
