Take this tour and enjoy the landscapes of the “Island of Fire and Ice.” Iceland’s volcanic and glacial activity make it one of the world’s most unique landscapes. You will drive with your guide to several stop’s including Gullfoss, to view the “Golden Falls” and Hvítá Canyon, Haukadalur geothermal area to witness the eruption of the Strokkur geyser, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Thingvellir National Park and a drive across the Hellisheiði mountain plateau, with postglacial lava fields back to Reykjavík. Tour includes a local lunch. This tour is moderately physical. Tour time is approximately 8 hours split between a modern coach ride, walking/standing 10 to 30 minutes at each stop, steps, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
