Grandeur of the Seas: Seasons of the Centrum (Technical View)

In May of 2012 the Grandeur of the Seas underwent a $47 Million renovation to bring her up to par with the features introduced on the Oasis class. One of the primary features added during this renovation was a complete redo of the atrium as part of a new "vertical promenade" concept that has now become officially known as Centrum Wow. The focus of this rethinking is to take the advanced lighting system and many performances that are carried out in the Royal Promenades across the fleet and make them doable in a vertical space. This mainly required the installation of advanced lighting and sound systems to allow the venue to be alive like the promenades are. This new entertainment venue is capped off by the introduction of an aerial rig allowing for aerial artists to perform during the various evening events such as Summer Breeze and the Welcome Aboard Reception. Their main spectacular though is the full fledged production show known as Seasons of the Centrum which brings the aerialists, singers, and dancers together for one final show. During the January 11th, 2014 sailing this production show was repeated twice on January 16th, once for second seating and again for main seating in place of the theater shows. This video was filmed from deck 7 next to the main aerialists staging area and focused more on the technical side of things such as switching apparatuses and hooking up aerialists.
