Day four of our Alaska cruise found us in the town of Skagway. We went on one of the best excursions we've been on albeit was a rather long day. The weather was off and on, that day, but luckily it cleared at the perfect times. We started our day on foot in downtown for a short bit before returning to the ship for a bus pickup that took us to our train. We took the White Pass Railway, which is a narrow-gauge railroad built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush and saw extraordinary scenery from the comfort of our vintage train car. After the train ride we went to Liarsville Gold Rush Trail Camp. There was melodramatic entertainment, gold panning, and a large campfire complete with marshmallows and apple cider. Our last stop was a scenic outlook where we had a lovely view of the town and our cruise ship. My cousin owns a travel agency and specializes in group tours: https://www.jonesborotravel.com/
