In this episode, join us as we arrive in Paris, France for a relaxing walk around the city. We found ourselves at the Arc de Triomphe and later, at the Eiffel Tower! Paris is easy to get around on foot, via the train, metro and buses. There are transportation passes that are quite reasonable that can help you make the most of your visit to this iconic European destination! We stayed overnight at a Marriott property, Le Meridien Etoile before heading to our Avalon Waterways river cruise ship, the Avalon Tapestry II. The hotel is really conveniently located near the train, metro and busses. It was a short walk from Le Meridien Etoile, past lovely shops & restaurants to visit the Arc de Triomphe. The next day we headed over to our ship. Our Avalon Waterways river cruise ship, the Avalon Tapestry II was parked right in the heart of Paris along the Seine River. What a great way to start our river journey to explore and enjoy the northwest part of France! A great feature of river cruising is that we were able to check in to the ship, drop off our luggage and then check out to enjoy another wonderful afternoon in Paris before our river cruise really got started. It was a short walk along the Seine River to reach the Eiffel Tower . . and we saw the Paris version of the Statue of Liberty along the way.
