Holland America Amsterdam Ship Tour (Now Fred Olsen Bolette) - Deck by Deck (4K)
YouTube Video Description↓
Explore the MS Amsterdam in this deck by deck tour of the Holland America cruise ship. This was from our 2017 14 Day Alaska cruise aboard the Amsterdam. She is now the Fred Olsen MS Bolette as of 2020. We embarked on the cruise ship in Seattle, boarding on deck 3. Deck 3 is mostly cabins, though you can see the bottom of the ship's atrium here, holding the base of the unique Astrolabe. Deck 3 also has the nice wood-plank outside walking area (jogging is not allowed, however). During an Alaska cruise, you can get some very nice views of glaciers from this area. Deck 2 is all cabins, and was where our ocean-view stateroom was. You can see a tour of the cabin here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdRNWIe1f8I Deck 1 is where the gangway is sometimes, and if you need medical attention, the ship's infirmary is located here. Going up to deck 4, you can access the bow of the ship for some dramatic views, though it could get very windy there. Right inside is the Queen's Lounge, the ship's Theater where production shows and entertainers perform. The Guest services desk is also located on this deck, as well as the Wajang Theatre where you can view culinary demo's of chefs cooking up delicious dishes. Movies are also shown here as well. The ship's sole specialty restaurant, the Pinnacle Grill, is located right next to Wajang. At the back of Deck 4 is the La Fontaine Dining Room which spans 2 levels. On Deck 5, there is the Digital Workshop where you can learn about computers. Get in line early because these classes are very popular. There is live music throughout on this deck in various lounges the as Explorer's Lounge & the Amstel Cafe. On Deck 5 is the Explorations Cafe, which is by far the most extensive library we have seen on our cruises on over 20+ ships. In addition to reading, you can play board games and put together puzzles. The ship's Casino, shopping, a Sports Bar, and the upper level of the theater round out the highlights of this deck. Deck 6 is a cabin deck, though you can access the level overlooking ship's bow from there. One of the laundry rooms is also located on this level. Deck 7 holds the expensive suite cabins and the Neptune Lounge for those guests. Deck 8 is the Lido deck where the main pool (Lido pool) with a hot tub is located. The all-important Lido Market buffet restaurant is also here, as well as the Dive In Cafe, and the Seaside View Pool at the back of the ship. On Deck 9 is the Club HAL kid's club, and the Loft teenager hangout area. You can also walk outside to play some tennis/pickle ball at the tennis court, or shoot some hoops at the basketball court. You can also get nice views overlooking the deck 8 pool, plus relax at the Crow's Nest Lounge at the front of this level. Deck 10, the highest on the MS Amsterdam, is an outdoor section at the front of the ship that has lounge chairs plus great views. Thanks for watching and please feel free to comment or ask questions!
