Ljubljana, Slovenia highlights in 24 hrs, including Ljubljana Castle, Preseren Square, markets and Ljubljana at night. Hotel stay and tour were part of a Regent Seven Seas Venice to Athens Cruise Pre-excursion. I paid $1999, if I recall, for the three night pre-excursion in Ljubljana, which included all transportation, Grand Plaza hotel with breakfast buffet, museum tickets, funicular, walking tour, one luncheon and day trips to both Bled Castle and the Postojna Caves. Well worth it! The only problem was that by picking the Slovenia excursion, I was not able to see Venice at all, as we were taken directly to the ship, which left the Venice port shortly after we arrived. Safe and friendly environment when staying in historical downtown area. The Regent Cruise had a zero single supplement on top of a discounted rate, which is why I booked it. They treated solo travelers with special care and brought us all together nightly. You never had to eat alone unless you wanted to! Senior Travelers: I would recommend staying near the downtown area so walking to destinations is simplified. Everything is pretty flat and there is a funicular to get you to the top of the castle. The cobblestone streets are well-maintained. Day trips to Bled Castle and Postojna Caves posted in subsequent videos.
