Our second day in Jordan saw us visiting ancient mosaics, Mt Nebo and the Dead Sea. We started in Madaba, Jordan at the Church of Saint George to see the Madaba Map or Madaba Mosaic Map. This map, from 542-570 AD is the oldest map of the Holy Land and particularly Jerusalem with mosaics depicting the cities, the Dead Sea, the Nile and Nile Delta, the Mediterranean Sea and the Eastern Desert. It is incredible that it still exists and is amazing to see. Next, we visited Mt. Nebo, or Mount Nebo, where Moses was granted a view of the Holy Land and is purported to have lived his final years and died. There is an amazing sculpture as you walk up the Mt Nebo with Moses' face. From Mt Nebo you can see the Jordan Valley with the Dead Sea, Bethlehem, Jericho and Jerusalem. We also visited The Moses Memorial Church and a small museum. We then got gorgeous views of the Dead Sea, so-called because it is so salty, no aquatic life can live in it. We had a day pass at a hotel to get close to the Dead Sea and a beach, then drove beside the Dead Sea for spectacular views. On the way to the Dead Sea, we saw baby camels! #jordan #travel #madaba #madabamap #nebo #moses #deadseasalt #deadsea #worldcruise #jordantravel #jordantourism Chapters 00:00 Introduction 00:33 Madaba Mosaic Map 03:32 Mt Nebo 09:24 Memorial Church of Moses 12:38 Mt Nebo Museum 14:08 The Dead Sea 19:01 Another Video You May Like!
