The majority of these are located aft or forward, occupying the outer, corner extremities of the ship. There are however, 14 S4 category Penthouse Suites located mid-aft on Riviera Deck and that’s what we’ll be touring today. The front door opens to reveal a spacious layout. At around 440 square feet or 41 square meters, there’s plenty of room to move. This particular suite connected to the neighbouring stateroom, also a suite, but thankfully there were no noise issues to report. You’ll find a US and European power outlet located at the vanity, with soft-close drawers for additional storage. A sofa bed provides a third berth for an additional passenger, and there’s even more storage located in the side tables. The traditional Princess wet bar has been replaced with a dry version, with a range of complimentary spirits provided. These can be swapped for wine or coffee cards by calling room service. The suite’s only Australian outlet is located here, as well as one European outlet. Complimentary soft drinks are stocked in the bar fridge. The full height wardrobe provides shelving as well as a compact safe. Some of the additional Suite perks include complimentary laundry, complimentary in-room Afternoon tea, an upgraded room service menu, access to Club Class or Reserve Class dining plus priority embarkation and disembarkation. The full list is available on the Princess website. For added privacy, the bedroom area can be sectioned off from the living room with a dividing curtain. The living and bedroom areas each have a flatscreen tv complete with complimentary on demand programming. Unfortunately, there are no power outlets on the balcony side of the bedroom. While the bedroom vanity is compact, it offers a built in hairdryer and soft-close drawers. Two USB-A outlets help with device charging, plus there’s one European and one US style power outlet for appliances. Instead of a classic walk-in wardrobe, there’s an arguably more user-friendly version that offers hanging space. Plus there are Terry shawl bathrobes for use onboard. The luxury bathroom is noticeably spacious. Unfortunately though, Princess replaced the jetted spa with a static bath. It’s still a nice-to-have, but personally I think bubbles are so much more fun. The main bathroom vanity offers a basin and large bench, plus some corner shelving for storage. Shower caps, tissues, hand soap and lotion are all provided. The large separate shower comes complete with a glass door. There’s a clothes line, plus both a traditional and hand held shower head. Unfortunately, there’s no rainfall shower head, which would have added a luxury touch. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. In typical Princess fashion, the bathroom is conveniently divided in two. There’s a separate powder room complete with hand wash basin. This layout also means you can entertain in the suite without having visitors accessing the main bathroom. One notable criticism of this category suite on all of the Royal Class sisters has to do with the size of the balcony. Specifically, it’s incredibly narrow, and is a striking departure from the gigantic suite-verandahs of the previous Grand Class generation ships. Whilst it still offers a range of premium outdoor furniture, you’ll find yourself doing a lot of crab-walking to make your way around it. Thanks for watching!
