Creator's Key Takeaways

Ocean Key is absolutely beautiful and such a relaxing beach day, but there were a few things I didn't expect.

The water is absolutely stunning. It is crystal clear and has that gorgeous blue that just makes you instantly relax.

The tram drivers were definitely driving as fast as that big golf cart can go. And they weren't always slowing down for pedestrians.

We did stop at two different bars on the island and grabbed frozen drinks and both of them were pretty watery.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Be mindful of tram drivers driving fast and not slowing for pedestrians.
Consider water shoes for going in and out of the water due to rocky ground around cabanas.
Know that once you've seen one side of the island, you've kind of seen both sides.

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

Ocean Cay Marine Reserve is MSC Cruises’ private island in the Bahamas, and today I’m sharing our honest experience after spending the morning exploring the island before heading back to the ship for lunch. This island is absolutely stunning and perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing beach day with crystal-clear water and beautiful scenery. That said, there were a few things that surprised us—like the tram drivers driving as fast as those things will go and not always slowing down for pedestrians, plus frozen drinks from two different bars that were pretty watery (maybe there was an ice shortage that day?). We also checked out the shops on the island. While I was still disappointed that—just like on the ship—there weren’t many cute shirts, the hats, towels, ornaments, and magnets were fabulous. I’ll share what Ocean Cay does really well, who this island is perfect for, and what to know before you visit. Since we went back to the ship for lunch, I won’t be reviewing the food on the island this time—but I’ll definitely cover that on a future visit. If you’re cruising with MSC or considering Ocean Cay, this video will help you decide if it’s the right private island for you! ✨ Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and follow along for more cruise content and honest ship and destination reviews.
