Perfect Hotel for a Tilbury Cruise & a Day of Shopping!

Are you cruising from Tilbury Docks and looking for the perfect hotel to stay in the night before your cruise? Then look no further than the Travelodge Thurrock Lakeside! Set beside the water, this hotel almost gives the impression that it's floating on a lake, while also being just a 5-minute walk from the famous Lakeside Shopping Centre – one of Europe's largest retail destinations. Whether you're looking for a bit of retail therapy, a meal out, drinks with friends, or some entertainment before your cruise, Lakeside has it all with its huge selection of shops, bars, restaurants, and leisure venues. For around £60, I enjoyed a comfortable one-night stay that included an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast. The hotel was clean, tidy, and offered a spacious king-size bed along with additional seating, making it a great place to relax before setting sail. Parking is available at the hotel, just remember to register your vehicle at reception when you check in. Check-in starts from 3pm and, as an added bonus, checkout isn't until 12 noon the following day. Getting to Tilbury Docks couldn't be easier. It's just a short drive away, or you can take a train journey of around 10 minutes with a change at Grays station. The breakfast was excellent quality and set me up perfectly for embarkation day. I genuinely cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and I'm already looking forward to staying here again next year when we're back cruising with Ambassador. Next time I won't be travelling solo, and I know Dave is going to love the opportunity for some pre-cruise shopping at Lakeside!
