Premier Inn | Cumberland Place - Southampton

Here is a quick tour of our room and details of our stay at Premier Inn Southampton, Cumberland Place. Footage taken during our stay in September 2021. We paid £63 for our night stay and added the £24.99 each Meal Deal which covered a 2 course meal, a drink and breakfast. We do love Premier Inn hotels as we always know what to expect. A clean room, a comfortable bed, a reasonable price and usually great service. This hotels location is around 15 minutes walk from the train station uphill. We stayed here the night before our cruise and taxi transfer to the port cost £7. Being honest we probably wouldn’t visit this hotel again, check in was a bit chaotic we had quite the wait despite there only being a queue of one person in front of us. After booking the hotel meal deal we were then told about a limited menu which supposedly due to brexit affecting their supply chain but I doubt this. The menu was extremely basic and resembled dishes either that were ready made or simply needed to have been heated up or minimal cooking. There was only one waiting staff so we did have a wait also for meal service. The general vibe we got from our experience staying here was that the hotel was understaffed which did drastically affect the service.
