Swim with a couple dozen friendly stingrays in the Bahamas! - As part of our Virgin Voyages cruise (April 2023), we purchased an excursion to swim with stingrays. This was a bucket list item for us. The tour was run by Bimini Blue Adventures. We met our tour host at Kayak Beach which is a short walk from the cruise port. After signing a health waver, we hopped aboard a catamaran for a 30-45 minute ride to Gun Cay. As soon as we stopped at the dock we were greeted by several stingrays. Our guides led us to a nearby sand bar where the water was only knee to waist deep. All we had to after that was stand there and let the stingrays do their thing. They swam right up to us despite the fact we had no food to give them. We stayed at Gun Cay for approximately 20-30 minutes. If you get tired of the stingrays (or they tire of you), you can lay out on the sandy beach and enjoy the warm Caribbean breeze. - Water and rum punch were provided on the boat ride to and from, but no food was offered. Feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks. PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE STINGRAYS! - There are no bathrooms on Gun Cay, so plan accordingly.
