Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner stops to pick up passengers at 7:15 AM at the station in Grover Beach, California. The train started its journey about 20 minutes earlier in San Luis Obispo, and before the day is over will make it all the way down to San Diego. In aerial video shot from a DJI Mavic Mini drone, you can see the train approach the station, which is located just 2000 feet from the Pacific Ocean. Another camera (Canon EOS 80D) on the train platform captures the passenger train as it pulls in to the station and stops for about 3 minutes to pick up passengers. Since the drone does not capture any audio, all audio was recorded by a microphone on the station platform. In Grover Beach, the train tracks run parallel to the famous Pacific Coast Highway, also known as California's highway 1. You'll notice that for this southbound run from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, the train operates with the Siemens Charger locomotive at the rear of the train. For the northbound run, the locomotive is at the front of the train.
