During my mid-June 2025 cruise to Alaska, I joined a small-boat excursion from the Ruby Princess to get up close to the incredible Hubbard Glacier — one of the few glaciers in the world that is actually growing. While the cruise ship remained about 5 miles away, our smaller boat was able to approach within just half a mile. From that closer vantage point, I captured this amazing footage of the glacier actively calving — the dramatic process where chunks of ice break off and crash into the sea. 💙 Want more?
