Join us on a road trip to Whitby in our Elddis Autoquest 155 Motorhome. We kick things off with some bacon and egg sandwiches before heading off to the beautiful coastal town. The weather was perfect – around 22-23°C and sunny! We stayed at Long Meadow Farm, a lovely campsite with views of Whitby Abbey. Our Whitby trip included a visit to the Whitby Brewery, right near the Abbey, where we enjoyed stone-baked pizzas and local ales. We walked down the famous 199 steps from the Abbey learning about its history as a Benedictine monastery and its inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. We also discovered the semi-precious gemstone, Whitby Jet. Later, we indulged in what might be the best fish and chips ever from Trencher's and even tried "scraps"! We took a fun ride on a pirate ship, a 40% scale replica of Captain Cook's HMS Endeavour, Our trip also involved some motorhome life realities, including Ben & David emptying the toilet cassette for the first time and battling a very windy day that almost ripped off a skylight! We wrapped up our evenings with charcuterie boards and games with our van buddies, Ben and David. It was sad to say goodbye to them!
