Creator's Key Takeaways
I was there in April and the beach was mostly empty, so the views were lovely.
If I returned, I think I would prefer to spend time in Quarter since it seemed more casual and laid-back.
It is also less expensive than Villora, although neither are cheap.
Now, a local resident told me that Villa Moora would soon be welcoming cruise ships. This would obviously make it more crowded with tourists.

On a day trip to Vilamoura and Quarteira, which are adjacent towns on the Southern Algarve coast of Portugal, I spent the day walking all over both communities. It was a delightful day of exploring. Since it was April, it was not high season, so neither beach community was overrun with tourists. This video shares my observations of the two towns and some tips for travelers to the area. For senior and solo travelers, the area was extremely safe and had mostly very flat surfaces for walking. @seniorsolotravel Facebook Travel Forum: https://www.facebook.com/groups/443309331791413 Senior Solo Travel Website: https://www.seniorsolotravel.net/ Portugal videos: Madeira: https://youtu.be/EfXrlgDNjNQ Toboggan Run Madeira: https://youtu.be/SyoS_H_EiNI Sintra: https://youtu.be/gegPfJB11VE Favaios: https://youtu.be/Cr21fxJ12oc Lamego: https://youtu.be/drGQXXDOJiA Porto: https://youtu.be/hv3YBbcRIzw Tavira: https://youtu.be/HbJtge_3JU4 Vilamoura & Quarteira: https://youtu.be/fZJ-leDfuBM
