On our recent Norwegian Encore cruise (January 2023) we stopped at Puerto Plata, DR. There are two ports where cruise ships dock, Amber Cove and Taino Bay. We have been to Amber Cove before while on Carnival so I was looking forward to visiting Taino Bay. The port wasn’t quite finished. They are still working on adding more pop up shops and the lazy river. Once finished, this will be a wonderful stop. Definitely like it better than Amber Cove.
