WHEN CRUISING TO ALASKA YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL OF WILD ANIMALS - SPECIFICALLY BEAR’S!! They are literally everywhere! We have not encountered one yet and hope we don’t but, there is always a chance. We wish we could tell you what to do if you do have an encounter but, we have no idea. We have been told by others to lay down and don’t move, carry bear spray, don’t run, be bigger than the bear, be loud, back away while facing the bear? We don’t know. If you know, please leave a comment below. We would love to hear what you would do if you had a bear encounter. We have no clue :) I always tell Andrea when we are in Alaska she is in trouble because I can out run her :) hahahaha. Icy Straits is a cool port. If that's all you do is stay in the port, it’s ok. You will find a ton of stuff to do. However if you are adventurous do a bear excursion :) Walking into the town (HooNah) it's is a walk!! If you are looking to get your steps in?
