This is a beautiful part of the North Island in New Zealand. The landscape is many shades of green, with rolling hills, lots of vegetation and animals, and some beautiful lakes. Our bike tour took us through a regional park, with a gravel trail that wound around approximately 15 kilometers. We had a van take us from the tender dock to the bike shop where we picked up our bikes, helmets and water bottles. The same van drove us back down the hillside to the tender at the end of this excursion. We chose an excursion offered by the cruise line we're sailing on, in this case, Celebrity Cruises. While I had some issues with flat tires on my bike, overall the group moved along at a good pace. My biggest disappointment was that we didn't really stop along the way to take photos or video of the beautiful landscapes we were seeing! That's a shame.
