The San Diego Beach Town of SOLANA BEACH is peaceful, unpopulated and a great way to get some fresh air while avoiding the crowds. Solana Beach is near Del Mar, Encinitas and is 14 miles from the city of San Diego. It is located right off of Highway 101 and was a pleasant surprise! It would be a perfect way to extend your cruise or take a weekend vacation like I did. This San Diego Beach Town is near Torrey Pines with many hiking trails and beaches to visit! It's a bit less expensive than staying in San Diego, and I loved it! THESE SUNSETS ARE JUST BEAUTIFUL!
