2023 Hawaii Day 3: Waimea Botanical Garden and Toa Family Luau

In part two of Day 3 in our stay on O'ahu, prior to getting on the NCL Pride of America Cruise Ship for a seven day Hawaiian Islands Cruise, we go from the Giovani shrimp truck in Haleiwa to Turtle Bay where we fail to find any turtles. Then we visit the Waimea Botanical Garden on the north shore of O'ahu and hike to the Waimea water fall. We then attend the Toa Family Luau at the botanical garden, which turns out to be one of the best luau's I have ever been to. We'll give you a tour of the botanical garden, show you the water fall, show some of the activities at the luau including palm tree climbing. We'll show you the delicious food at the luau, and give you a sneak peak at some of the dancing including the poi ball dance, the haka from New Zealand (not Samoa) and the amazing fire knife dancing, and I attempt to do the Haka! The Luau was over 3 hours long with all the demonstrations and dances, but Tao's media policy only allows us to show 5 minutes of footage total, so be assured there is a lot more events and dancing than we show here, including coconut peeling, cracking and eating, palm frond weaving, the cooking demonstrations, and tons of dances from all the Polynesian islands. And there is lots of information given about the cultures of the various islands and lots of fun, levity and jokes which I wasn't able to show because of the time limitations.
