Why subject yourself to more disappointment? If you plan a cruise for 2022, there is a greater likelihood that the cruise will actually sail. Plus, once cruising resumes this year, you can always book a last minute cruise deal. By waiting until 2022 for a cruise, you will have several additional cruise ships from which to choose for your voyage. Whenever cruising does begin in 2021, the cruise lines will have limited ships sailing. Inevitably, this phased roll-out of the cruise lines’ fleets will certainly take some time. Not to mention, there are some brand new cruise ships scheduled to debut in 2022. This includes Disney Wish, Celebrity Beyond, and several river ships. Plus, some of the cruise ships slated for this year, such as Mardi Gras, Odyssey of the Seas, and Enchanted Princess may further be delayed depending on CDC guidelines. ------WHERE YOU CAN CRUISE IN 2022------ Initially, most cruises will depart from popular homeports like Florida. These cruises will likely be limited to the Bahamas, Caribbean, and cruise line private islands. It is highly unlike that cruising to other regions of the world, especially for U.S. citizens, will resume in 2021. By waiting for 2022 to cruise, you can have a greater selection of ports of call as well. This means you can cruise to destinations like Alaska, the Mediterranean, Australia, and beyond. Also, cruises can not be any longer than 7 days, at least through this November. Thus, waiting until next year means you can travel for longer periods of time on that perfect cruise itinerary. ------IT MAKES MORE FINANCIAL SENSE TO BOOK A CRUISE FOR 2022------ If you have future cruise credits from cancelled cruises piling up, then why not use them for a cruise that is more likely to happen. Applying those funds to 2022 cruises, along with current cruise deals, will make your future cruise an even better bargain. Right now, cruise lines are running promotions for next year. Travel agents are also offering additional perks if you book a cruise for 2022. Not to mention, with the extra time to pay off the cruise, you could maybe even upgrade. This might mean cruising to a different region or opting for a higher class of ship or stateroom.
