Join us as we take a look at our whale watching excursion booked through Hoonah Travel Adventures. The excursion took about 3 hours and was booked independently of the cruiseline we were on when we had our Alaska cruise port in Icy Straight Point. Our tour took place on July 29, 2022 and the weather was overcast but otherwise quite comfortable. As for the tour operator, the crew was super friendly, knowledgeable. The boat we were on was very nice and comfortable with room to see the wildlife on the front and back, and they sure did deliver on the whales, and with bonus wildlife sightings too boot. While we aren't real big on booking excursions that aren't through the ship, with this port, the only town on the island, is only a mile from the port so there's not likely going to be any sort of transit mishap that would keep you from making it back to the port on time. If you are making a stop at the Icy Straight Point cruise port and want to go whale watching, I am confident you will get what you're looking for booking through Hoonah Travel Adventures. For the record, they are not sponsoring us in any way. These are our own unsolicited opinions. Hoonah Travel Adventures: https://hoonahtraveladventures.com/
