Amsterdam to Paris by Thalys High Speed Train Travelling with my youngest daughter in Europe, we had to go from Amsterdam to Paris, but after hearing about the issues at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, I decided it would be less stressful and quicker to travel this short distance by train. Iโm glad we did as it was a great experience. Our journey: Depart Amsterdam Central Station 11.15 am. Arrives Paris โ Nord Station 2.44 pm. Travel time, 3 hours, and 29 minutes Cost 169 Euro per person in Comfort Class We booked Comfort Class, which is first class seating, but no meals, station lounge access and strict changing conditions, but was a lot cheaper than Premium Class. Standard Class has 4 seats across the train, while both Comfort and Premium Class has 3 seats across. The seats were either grouped as 2โs or 4โs around a small table, making it a social journey if you are allocated seats with strangers as we were as part of 4 seats and a table. Still we had plenty of room and felt very comfortable during the trip. Thalys operates this service 12 times per day and often has a short stop in Brussels and/or Rotterdam. Some of the services are direct, so itโs good to check beforehand if this is important to you. Check in time for the Thalys train was only half an hour or so beforehand, so much quicker than airport check in, the whole process went very smoothly, finding our seats and storing our baggage. A quick bit of history about Thalys - Thalys is the French high-speed train operator that started it all in Europe. Back in the 1990โs they started with the first high-speed European trains from Paris to Brussels, since then both Thalys and other train operators have created a nice network of highspeed train routes across the continent, with more to come each year. We really enjoyed our high-speed train journey with Thalys from Amsterdam to Paris and would highly recommend this over flying anytime for such a short distance. #AmsterdamtoParisbyThalysHighSpeedTrain #Thalystrain #ThalysAmsterdamtoParis #Europeantrains
