Welcome to Part Two of our Journey to Antarctica โ€” the sea days and our experience crossing the legendary Drake Passage ๐Ÿšขโ„๏ธ In this episode of Kenny & JJ Go All the Way, we leave Ushuaia aboard the Seabourn Pursuit and head south through the Beagle Channel before taking on one of the most infamous stretches of ocean in the world: the Drake Passage. Soโ€ฆ how did it treat us? On a scale from Drake Lake to Drake Shake, we rate it a 3 on the way down and a 5 on the way back โ€” and yes, seasickness still made an appearance ๐Ÿคข. After experiencing this, we canโ€™t imagine what a full Drake Shake would feel like (and weโ€™re okay never finding out). You might think sea days would be boring, but that couldnโ€™t be further from the truth. From daily lectures and briefings to exploring the shipโ€™s many lounges, enjoying incredible food (including a full sushi bar!), and even doing laundry for free, we were constantly busy and never bored. We also explain why ship choice matters for Antarctica: Only ships with fewer than 500 passengers can land on the continent Only 100 passengers are allowed on shore at a time Smaller ships = more time exploring Antarctica Thatโ€™s why we chose the Seabourn Pursuit โ€” with just 264 passengers, advanced stabilization technology, and beautiful design that made 11 days at sea comfortable and enjoyable. Plus, weโ€™re staying in one of the two Signature Suites with a private jacuzzi, which definitely helped on rough sea days. Along the way, we tour: Multiple lounges (including the Bow Lounge and Expedition Lounge) The Discovery Center for lectures and briefings Dining venues, room service, and onboard entertainment The gym, bridge visits, and even the submarine program Whether youโ€™re planning an Antarctica expedition cruise or just curious about what itโ€™s really like to cross the Drake Passage, this video gives you an honest look at life at sea before reaching the White Continent. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Missed our full suite tour?
