I recently went on an expedition cruise to Patagonia/Chile where it rains...a lot. And so I decided to buy some waterproof trousers/rain pants to protect my clothes from rain, mud and snow when I went hiking. I went online to Amazon and bought some Sondico trousers for £9.99 - that's approximately $13. They were actually the version for men because I couldn't find any for women. But I bought size small and really they're fine for men or women and I can't recommend them highly enough. They kept me warm too.
