The second stop on our Viking Rhine Getaway River Cruise was Cologne, famous for it's gothic cathedral. Our excursion was a walking tour of the old town and an introduction to Cologne Cathedral. During the old town walk, we saw the Romanesque Great St. Martin Church, several old brauhaus or pubs, statues, the historic old city or town hall, ostermannplatz and its fountain, a chocolatier and many other places. We also see a glimpse of its Roman past with part of a Roman wall, fountain and street. Our tour ended with a look at a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the gothic Cologne Cathedral, the most visited place in Germany, visited by tourists and pilgrims alike. We then took a small tourist train to see the Lindt Chocolate Museum.
