It is our first port day on the first cruise to sail from the USA and we are docked in Costa Maya, Mexico. We didn't know what to expect in port, will it feel the same as always or will it feel different. Well, we were actually shocked at how different it was!! It felt like a ghost town! Half of the shops and restaurants were closed and there were so few people in this usually lively port! The pool was empty, no one was swimming with the dolphins... it was weird!! The last time we were in Costa Maya there were three full ships carrying about 12,000 passengers, but today we were the only ship with maybe 1300 passengers... and only maybe half got off the ship.
