YouTube Video Descriptionโ†“

November 2025 will welcome a new cruise line to Galveston, Texas. MSC Cruises will bring its ship MSC Seascape to Texas for year-round cruising of the Western Caribbean. The Port of Galveston has also announced that it will be building a new cruise terminal for MSC on pier 16. In addition to the terminal building, there will be a parking structure and at least two surface lots for cruise guests. The new terminal will be situated between the existing terminals bringing more jobs, money, and traffic to the port area. The terminal is a $151 million investment in the future of cruising out of southeast Texas. Construction began in August 2024 and is scheduled to be finished by November 2025. Whether this is good news or bad news depends on your point of view. The increased variety of cruise lines available out of Galveston is welcome. For too long, those cruising out of southeast Texas have had limited choices. It has been either Carnival or Royal Caribbean. But now you can choose from those two along with Princess, Disney, Norwegian, and soon MSC. Now if we could only get a few different itineraries. You can only go to Cozumel so many times. This announcement by MSC also sends notice to all the major cruise brands that MSC is not afraid of them. This is evident in the more recent news that MSC will begin cruises to Alaska very soon. Be on the lookout for more cruise expansion from this growing company.
