Disney Dream - Castaway Cay & Our First Cabana

We had been waiting for this day since we were able to pick our excursions. As we've mentioned before, this was the "trip of firsts" for us and we were doing the ultimate first, we finally had a cabana! Even with the addition of the new Mickey & Minnie cabanas, and even with us being Platinum cruisers, it's near impossible to get one, so we were ecstatic that one was available on Serenity Bay. Our morning started as usual, breakfast at Cabana's and then it was off the ship and off to Serenity Bay to check in to our cabana. Cabana 23 was our home for the day, and it was marvelous! We had a fridge full of water and soda, sunscreen, and a giant fruit basket for us to nibble on throughout the day. The hammock quickly became Kari's home for the day and Bill enjoyed his lounger. We enjoyed lunch at the new (to us) Hangar 98 BBQ before spending more time in the cabana. The only downfall to this day was that it was cold and windy and we weren't able to enjoy our time in the water (although we tried a few times).
