YouTube Video Descriptionโ
Tuesday was Disney's Q3 earnings call and CEO Bob Chapek reported that Parks, Experiences and Products suffered a $2 Billion hit from April-June. This was to be expected, given the parks were closed for the entire quarter in the US and resorts began reopening at the end of June. Chapek also announced that Disney+ has surpassed 60 million subscribers to date and that Mulan, a film that has seen numerous setbacks due to COVID, will be released directly to Disney+ on September 4th. Customers will have to pay $30 to access the film, which they will be able to enjoy at any time after purchase while they remain a subscriber. Disney Cruise Line, as a result of the recent CLIA order, has cancelled all sailings through 10/31/20. These sailings have been removed from the site and the first available dates to book are 11/1 an 11/2. In recent Parks news, Jose Carioca is back at Gran Fiesta Tour! ICYMI, Jose malfunctioned recently and was removed from the ride while he was fixed, but he is BACK! What's not back yet is the Peoplemover. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover remains closed at Magic Kingdom and it looks like that massive track overhaul that we mentioned last week will be moving forward. Magic Kingdom has confirmed that they will be decorating for Halloween this year, despite all of the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween parties being cancelled. Will masks be required in Disney in 2021? According to Orange County officials, masks will likely be a requirement in the county until at least Spring 2021, or until a vaccine is available (according to the Orlando Sentinel).
