About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Descriptionโ
Hi everyone, In this week's video we arrive in the wonderful #alicante, Spain. We have breakfast again at The Kitchens as we love the bacon barms so much! We then have a look at the ships in the port as we are docked next to Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas which makes Marella Voyager look tiny! We walk into Alicante as it is only a short walk and see the castle on the hill and the palm tree lined streets which we love and reminded us of Salou. Our most recent Salou playlist here if you'd like to see - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLom9Nnk3gML8NSjdK3jLR8bjnvRfg-7Tc The weather was glorious this day so we decided to just explore and found an area where there was a stage with music and dancing, this was a fun atmosphere! We then carried on to the only thing I had heard of in Alicante before we went Calle de Las Setas (The Mushroom Street). We loved this quirky street and I'm so glad we visited as we found an amazing empanada shop here too called Jimmy Churri. We carried on exploring in the lovely sunshine and found another angle to see the two ships. We got more into the heart of Alicante, found an Ale Hop and then were on the hunt to find Farggi ice cream ... we did find this but there wasn't any ice cream! We couldn't believe it but we carried on haha We then went back towards the front and promenade and found Cafe Acapulco for ice cream and a large San Miguel in the sunshine. We had another walk along the palm tree streets and start to make our way back to our #marellacruises ship. We loved our visit to Alicante and would definitely like to come back soon! Once back on board we go to our cabin to freshen up and we see our wonderful cabin steward had made us a new towel animal. Can you tell what it is? If so leave us a comment! We get some fish and chips from the Snack Shack and listen to the music up on the pool deck but unfortunately we didn't like the food so we left it. We went to Abuelas instead for chilli, rice and nachos and we enjoyed this MUCH more! We then got a drink and decided it was time to relax on a sun lounger for a little while before sail away. We were a little out of the way but didn't mind at this point. We watched sail away from our spot and found it funny as Voyager and Oasis were having a battle of the honks! So many horn sounds back and forth! If you would like to see the Symphony of the Seas vlogs the playlist is here - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLom9Nnk3gML8mUeGDIeIwpDoYtR-BjbKs We waved goodbye to Alicante and then went on our way to the pool deck to enjoy the sail away party. I honestly can't think how this sail away party could be beaten, The Wild Boys were performing all the classic 80s tunes and everyone was having such a good time, the atmosphere was amazing it was just so much fun! We LOVED this and couldn't bring ourselves to leave till it had finished. It was then time to get ready for the final themed night TV Timewarp Character Chaos. We decided to just d a nod towards the theme this time and I (Laura) did a bound as Angelica Pickles from Rugrats and Dane was a generic 90s raver person haha We go to the Broadway Show Lounge to watch Rock Rebels, we thought this was brilliant and the team are so talented! We also loved how comfy the seats were and that you have little tables at the seats to put your drinks on. After the show we go to see what the secret bar The Exchange is all about. We enter through the phone box but as it is on an already themed cruise it was not it's usual themed self so we didn't need a password. We really liked it in here and loved getting the smoked drinks. It was then time to continue with the entertainment and went to the Squid & Anchor to watch Ska Britannia. We love ska so we were really excited for this and they just did not disappoint, they were so good we couldn't stop dancing along and these were definitely our favourite entertainment from the cruise! We then carried on the fun times and went up to watch DJ Sash on the pool deck. This was a great experience and everyone was dancing and singing along the whole pool deck was loving it! He played so many good songs but unfortunately it seems we missed Ecuador! It was then finally time to call it a night after 3 crazy fun filled non stop days!
